AI Basics ("we," "us") provides an online AI-education course at aibasics.in. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's used. By creating an account, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: name and email address, collected when you sign up (by email/password or Google sign-in).
  • Phone number: only if you sign in with WhatsApp, used solely to send and verify a one-time login code.
  • Profile details: grade and school, if you choose to add them — entirely optional.
  • Learning data: lesson progress, quiz scores, AI Coins, badges, and certificates earned — this is core to how the course works.
  • Payment information: if you subscribe, payments are processed directly by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details — we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and for how long your access is valid.

2. How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Create and secure your account, and let you log back in
  • Track your lesson and quiz progress so the course can pick up where you left off
  • Generate your certificates with your name and results
  • Process and manage your subscription (via Razorpay)
  • Send WhatsApp login codes (via Twilio), only if you use that sign-in method
  • Respond to support requests you send us

We do not sell your data. We do not use your account or learning data (name, email, progress, quiz scores) for advertising. Our public pages (home, about, courses, blog, contact, pricing) use anonymous visit-tracking pixels for ad retargeting — see "Advertising pixels" below for what that means.

3. Who we share it with

We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run AI Basics:

  • Firebase (Google): authentication and database storage for your account and progress.
  • Razorpay: payment processing for subscriptions. Razorpay is PCI-DSS compliant and handles your payment details directly — we never receive your full card or bank information.
  • Twilio: delivers WhatsApp OTP messages, only if you use WhatsApp sign-in — receives your phone number solely for that purpose.
  • Meta and Google (advertising pixels): on our public marketing pages only, an anonymous browser identifier and the page visited are shared with Meta/Google so we can show ads to past visitors. This never runs on pages where a signed-in student is using the course. See "Advertising pixels" below.

We don't share your personal data with anyone else, except where required by law.

3a. Advertising pixels

Our public marketing pages (home, about, courses, blog, contact, pricing) and the login/signup pages load a Meta Pixel and/or Google Ads tag. These report that a browser visited a given page, using an anonymous cookie or device identifier — they do not tell us your name or email address, and we never receive that information from them. On the signup page, we additionally report the moment an account is successfully created (not on page load, and not for existing users logging in) so we can distinguish visitors who signed up from those who didn't, for the same anonymous ad-retargeting purpose — this still never sends Meta or Google your name, email, or any account details. These pixels are never loaded on the dashboard, lessons, quizzes, profile, or certificate pages, so a signed-in student's course activity is never used for advertising, consistent with our commitment in Section 4 below.

4. Students under 18

AI Basics is built for students, many of whom are minors. We collect the minimum information needed to run the course (name, email, and progress data), and we do not knowingly use minors' data for advertising or share it with marketers. We encourage parents/guardians to be involved in account creation and any paid subscription, since payment requires an adult's payment method. A parent or guardian can contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete a student's data.

5. Data retention & security

We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account is active, so you don't lose your learning history. Data is stored on Firebase's infrastructure, which uses industry-standard encryption and access controls. Access to student data within AI Basics itself is restricted to the site administrator, for support and account-management purposes only.

6. Your rights

You (or a parent/guardian, for a minor's account) can request to access, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing us at aibasicsacademy2026@gmail.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of AI Basics after a change means you accept the updated policy.
