Fact: Today's AI models generate text by predicting likely word patterns, not by understanding meaning the way a person does. This is exactly why AI can state a wrong fact with total confidence — it's producing plausible-sounding language, not consulting genuine understanding of the world.

Fact: Most AI models you use are frozen after training — they don't update their knowledge from your specific chats in real time. What feels like "it remembered" within a conversation is usually just the current chat's context, not the model actually learning and changing.

Fact: AI is genuinely good at specific, well-defined tasks — drafting text, summarizing documents, writing first-pass code. It's much weaker at tasks requiring judgment, accountability, or dealing with messy real-world exceptions. The realistic near-term picture is AI changing how jobs are done more often than eliminating them outright.
